St. Martha’s Circle: retired women ages 55 to 92. We are women of prayer. We have an ongoing prayer line for the sick of our parish and for family and friends. We gather together for prayer throughout the year, including praying The Stations of the Cross, novenas, a Litany and the Rosary.
Our mission objectives are expressed through our homemade prayer blankets for the seriously ill, designing, making and delivering birthday cards to our Jr. and Sr. High School students as well as seasonal cards for our elderly parishioners.
Our service projects include: providing meals for the Youth night at St. Ann’s and the Catholic Student Center; wrapping gifts for graduating seniors; donating items for the Cross Catholic Charities Boxes of Joy , the I Heart Canyon school supply backpacks, Catholic Charities food bank, Fall Back Festival raffle items, and a baby shower for Amarillo Agency for Women.
We’ve enjoyed brunch together at various restaurants in town, toured St. Mary’s Church of Umbarger, took a van tour of Palo Duro Canyon, took a trip to a couple of art studios, carpooled to Nazareth for Divine Mercy Sunday celebration, invited guest speakers to share their hobbies or their experiences in the Holy Land, and watching video series together “From Genesis to Jesus,” “The Bible and the Virgin Mary” and “The Bible and the Sacraments.”
Come join us on the second Tuesday of each month at 1 pm in St. Ann’s Parish Hall (August through May and sometimes in the summer).
