Faith Formation 2023-24
Theme:
The Eucharist! We must remember that our Lord Jesus Christ is truly present in every single Mass and tabernacle around the world and in our parish. As He promised, "Behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
New Curriculum!
After much prayer, discernment, and meetings, we have chosen a new curriculum for Faith Formation for Kindergarten through 6th grade! The new curriculum is called Christ In Us from William H. Sadlier. It is a much more updated curriculum that uses technology to teach children and youth about our rich faith. There are many resources available on an online portal for catechists, parents, and students.
Earlier Start this Year!
This year, to accommodate some requests and feedback from last year, and to provide more classes for catechesis, we have decided to start Faith Formation with school. (New change as of 8/9/23!) Our first day is Sunday, August 27, 2023.
Reminders about Faith Formation:
- Classes for all ages are Sundays at 10:15 - 11:15 a.m. (Parents, please pick up your children promptly at 11:15 a.m. as many of our catechists are also liturgical ministers, thank you!)
- Second Sections of Adult Education classes are offered on Wednesdays from 7 - 8:00 p.m.
Confirmation
Any 8th graders who register for Faith Formation and want to be registered for the Confirmation program should contact the DRE, Adrian Johnson, for the Confirmation Registration Form and more information about the Confirmation Program. See the Registration Forms for information about the Year of Encounter for our 7-12th grade students.

Faith Formation classes follow the Canyon ISD calendar and meet on Sundays from 10:15 - 11:15 a.m. Contact Adrian Johnson, DRE for more information.
*Fees are $20 for families with one student, $30 for two students, and $35 for three or more students. Anyone needing financial assistance should contact Adrian Johnson.
**Please note that all families participating in our Faith Formation programs must also be registered in the parish. To register as parishioners, click on the link below.

Youth Note: Youth group is for 7-12th graders only. All 7-12th graders who fill out this form will automatically be added to the Year of Encounter on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

- Safe Environment Training
- All minors in Faith Formation and Youth Ministry are required to receive Safe Environment Training, either from the parish, or from their parents. There will be a training provided during the school year by the parish but, if your child is unable to participate, the training materials will be sent to the parents. The material discussed in the training helps teach your child how to stay safe and what to do if he/she is put in an inappropriate situation. Parents may and are encouraged to particpate in the training. Please indicate whether you give the parish of St. Ann's in Canyon permission to give your child Safe Environment Training.
